Hot Pepper

Originally located in a sweaty basement beneath the Secession building, Hot Pepper has moved to one of the Innere Stadt’s most charming alleys, the winding Schönlaterngasse. Long a favourite with Vienna’s West African and Carribbean community, the new Hot Pepper continues the policy of alternating nights of calypso and soca, funk and soul, hiphop and reggae. Weekends are dancehall nights with live reggae acts on Saturdays. A welcome addition is the chilled first floor Carribean cocktail lounge. For the party people, however, the major attraction is the heaving basement dancefloor where admission is charged at weekends.
